The United States has dropped to its lowest-ever ranking on the World Happiness Report, sinking to the 24th spot, the AP reports. The U.S. had previous rankings of No. 11 in 2011, No. 19 in 2018, and No. 23 in 2023.
Finland is the happiest country in the world for the eighth year in a row. That nation, along with Denmark and Iceland, continues to live at the top of the list.
Mexico was listed at No. 10, and Canada was listed at No. 18. We expected the former to be lower and the latter to be a little higher.
Earlier this year, SocietyRAG published the article LIVING IN AMERICA: Nearly 40% of Americans say it’s not enjoyable anymore that cited the results of a survey by Talker Research that suggests 40% of Americans think living in the U.S. is neither enjoyable nor preferable to residing elsewhere.
