CRUEL: U.S. deports 10 year old who was undergoing brain cancer treatment

It’s evil. And it’s intentional.

Is this the type of behavior that makes America great? There’s nothing great about this. Typical MAGA.

A 10-year-old U.S. citizen girl, who was undergoing treatment for brain cancer, was deported to Mexico along with her undocumented parents and four siblings, all of whom are also U.S. citizens. The family was detained at an immigration checkpoint in Texas while en route to an urgent medical appointment in Houston. The parents had lived in the U.S. since 2013 and have no criminal record beyond lacking legal immigration status.

Despite having previously passed through the checkpoint with letters from doctors and lawyers, the parents were unable to provide valid immigration documentation this time, leading to their detention and deportation.

“We have made this trip across Texas several times to take our daughter to the hospital so that she can receive the medical attention, which is what keeps her well,” her mother said in her video message. “That’s what keeps her safe.”

“This time, we were detained, held, and we faced the worst decision, an impossible one, to be permanently separated from our children or to be deported together,” she said.

The girl was diagnosed with brain cancer last year and had undergone surgery to remove a tumor. She requires ongoing medical care, including rehabilitation and medication to manage seizures, which she cannot access in Mexico.

[Initially] Doctors “practically gave me no hope of life for her, but thank God, she’s a miracle,” her mother said.

Following capture, the family was taken to a detention facility, where they were separated before being transported to Mexico. They were dropped off at a bridge and initially stayed in a shelter before finding housing.

“It’s a very difficult thing,” her mother said.

“I don’t wish anyone to go through this.”

“The fear is horrible,” she said. “I almost can’t explain it, but it’s something frustrating, very tough.”

In addition, the family’s 15-year-old son is facing a critical health challenge: long QT syndrome, a heart condition that leads to irregular and rapid heartbeats, posing serious life-threatening risks, as noted by the Mayo Clinic. He hasn’t been able to access the necessary healthcare in Mexico, as his mother has also pointed out.

“The authorities have my children’s lives in their hands,” the mother said.

Advocates are calling for humanitarian parole to allow the family to return to the U.S. for the girl’s medical treatment.

Unfortunately, the family is currently in a region of Mexico known for kidnappings.
